ONGIARA COLLEGE OF ACUPUNCTURE AND MOXIBUSTION Faculty for 2008-2011
Ongiara College is in the process of recruiting and building a strong, experienced faculty, including but not limited to graduates who trained at the College of Traditional Acupuncture UK (CTA), the Worsley Institute of Classical Acupuncture (WICA), the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture (AFEA) and the Traditional Acupuncture Institute (TAI) now known as TAI Sophia Institute. We ask for a thriving interest in Classical and/or Five Element Acupuncture, irrespective of the initial style of training. We require a proven record of continuing education over the years. Julie has taught for many years, initially in general education and more recently within health disciplines. She had a thriving acupuncture practice in Bristol (UK) before relocating to Ontario in 2001; she now practices Five Element Acupuncture and Rejuvanessence and is the only authorized Rejuvanessence trainer in North America. She has served as the President of TendingShen Corporation since its inception in the US (offering continuing education courses for acupuncture graduates, California CEU provider #417) and as the Vice-President of TendingShen Inc. (Canada).
Academic Dean: Niki H. Bilton M.Ac (UK), M.B.Ac.C (UK), L.Ac (MD): Course Leader for Reflective Practice/Action Research
Niki has 25 years experience as an acupuncture practitioner, receiving her qualifications from the College of Traditional Acupuncture (UK): Lic.Ac (1982), B.Ac (1985), M.Ac (1988). She was on the Faculty of CTA from1988-1998 and a member of CTA’s Academic Board and Board of Management. She headed 1st and 2nd year teaching teams, was a clinical supervisor for 18 third-year clinicals and served as Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Dean of Human Resources. She has been a guest lecturer at TAI Sophia and AFEA and has taught continuing graduate education throughout Europe and North America since 1988. Niki started Le Brel Enterprises Inc. in Windsor, Ontario in 2000 (now TendingShen Inc.) and TendingShen Corporation in Maryland, USA in 2002, both as health care/education providers.
